Cascades Casino Resort — full review

Last revision · fact check

Gateway's Langley City casino with the 77-room Coast hotel alongside. ATLAS does a solid steak, the casino runs 24 hours and parking is free — but there's no pool and no theatre.

Book it for: Steak dinner and a few hours of gaming in the Fraser Valley.
Pass if: A pool or a show is on your list — Cascades has neither.

Casino plus Coast hotel

Cascades opened in Langley City in May 2005 under Gateway Casinos. The adjoining Coast Langley City Hotel & Convention Centre renovated its 77 rooms in 2018. Room types: Coast Two Queens, Coast King, corner Queen with sofa bed, accessible Queen with roll-in shower, Hospitality Suite (wet bar), Executive Suite (balcony).

Gaming

1,000-plus slots across 80,000 sq ft, open 24 hours, with poker, bingo, blackjack and roulette. In 2018 the 420-seat Summit Theatre shut to make space for bingo, so there's no showroom.

Food

ATLAS steak + fish is Gateway's flagship restaurant brand. Match Eatery & Public House books live music and DJs; The Breakfast Room serves the hotel; Sundays from 11 am there's a brunch buffet in the convention ballroom. Glacier Bar: 11 am to 2 am.

Logistics

No swimming pool — the hotel says so plainly — but a 24-hour gym. Check-in 3 pm, checkout noon. Free parking. Pets with pre-approval: $25 a night for one, $40 for two. YVR is roughly an hour's drive, Abbotsford airport half an hour; Fort Langley and the Greater Vancouver Zoo are nearby.

Our take

A dependable local casino with a tidy small hotel. Not a rival to the top-ten resorts, and not trying to be.

Traveller questions, answered

Can I swim at Cascades Langley?

No. The Coast hotel confirms there is no swimming pool.

Are there shows at Cascades Langley?

Not any more — the Summit Theatre closed in 2018 and its space became a bingo hall.
