Biggest hotel in our guide, full stop: 758 rooms in two towers, most looking over the Detroit River at the Detroit skyline. Then there's the Colosseum — 5,000 seats, none more than 225 feet out — and a floor with 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables, right downtown instead of out by a highway exit.

SuitsColosseum nights and two-day downtown breaks with a big menu of room types.
Pass ifThe kids expect to swim — the indoor pool admits adults only.

01Size and setting

Nobody else on our list comes close on room count: Caesars Windsor has 758, split between the Augustus Tower (pitched by the resort as family-friendly) and the older Forum Tower. It's on Riverside Drive in the heart of Windsor, and what you're really paying for in most rooms lies across the water — Detroit's skyline.

02Rooms and suites

Expect about 402 sq ft in a standard Resort Room: king bed, generous desk, a tub plus a separate shower, river outlook. In 2018 the resort announced it would redo every one of its 758 rooms; the Forum Tower was finished by September 2019 — 55-inch screens, fresh carpet and bedding. Upgrades: Resort Deluxe Suite (whirlpool, wet bar); Junior Suite (own living room, whirlpool in Forum only); Executive Suite (five-piece marble ensuite, TV inside the mirror, separate butler door, fireplace in some).

In by 4 pm, out by 11 am. Budget for the extra: the booking page we used added a $23.40 resort fee per night, settled at checkout.

03Gaming

Figures come from the property's August 2023 fact sheet: 2,000-plus slots, 80-plus tables — including, the sheet claimed, Ontario's only live craps game — a World Series of Poker room of its own, and 22 big screens in a Caesars Sportsbook of 1,700 sq ft. Gaming floor and bars admit 19+ only. Colosseum presales open first to Caesars Rewards members.

04The Colosseum

For many guests the 5,000-seat Colosseum is the whole point of a Windsor trip. By the resort's measure no seat sits more than 225 feet back, and a July 2026 notice confirmed all-ages admission unless a show says otherwise. Alice Cooper was on the calendar for Friday, November 6, 2026 when we checked.

05Restaurants and bars

Dress up for Neros Steakhouse; dress down for the rest — Johnny Rockets, Legends Sports Bar, family-style Italian at Spago Trattoria, Café 377 for breakfast and lunch, and a 24-hour Tim Hortons on the Forum Tower's main level. Cosmos Lounge has local bands on Friday and Saturday nights; Vu Bar has the skyline. No nightclub on site any more — ARIIUS moved out in January 2026 to a new address on Ouellette Avenue.

06Pool, sauna, gym

The indoor pool admits adults only; it comes with a large whirlpool, loungers and towels. Hotel guests also have the sauna and fitness room. We found no spa in the amenities currently listed.

07Arrival and parking

Windsor International is a quick taxi hop from downtown. The garage at 257 Glengarry Avenue (six floors) reopened completely on July 8, 2026, after repairs that ran over a year. From Detroit, the privately run Tunnel Bus stops close by at McDougall and University; the fare is $15, card only.

08Verdict on file

A strong pick for a concert or a downtown weekend with plenty of room options; couples will enjoy it most. Families do fine in the Augustus Tower, but the kids will have to do their swimming elsewhere.

→Arriving at the resort

Starting points we would actually use for Caesars Windsor, quickest car-free option first where there is one. Each button opens a real Google Maps route; numbers in the text are only those a named source publishes.

  1. Windsor Airport [YQG] — driving

Windsor's airport is minutes from the core. Transit Windsor buses connect it with Caesars, and the self-park garage on Glengarry has every floor back in use since summer 2026.Per Cvent

  2. Downtown Detroit — driving

  3. Detroit Metro Airport [DTW] — driving

The bigger airport is Detroit Metro, though no one publishes a door-to-door time. Expect an international crossing with documents checked.
