The youngest resort on file opened on July 3, 2025 — the first Hard Rock in Canada to combine hotel, casino and venue in one integrated property. Counted on site: 150 rooms incl. 22 suites; over 1,500 slots on a floor that does not close; Council Oak; Hard Rock LIVE for 2,200. It's 19+ throughout — hotel, restaurants, everything.
01Rideau Carleton, reborn
A $350 million expansion turned the former Rideau Carleton casino site into Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, open to the public from July 3, 2025. In Hard Rock's own description, nothing like it — hotel, casino and venue fully integrated — existed for the brand in Canada before. Hard Rock International runs it under OLG. The rule that matters: under-19s can't enter any part of it — not the hotel, not the restaurants.
02Rooms
There are 150 rooms, of which 22 are suites. Deluxe rooms, King or Queen, are 389 sq ft each; a Queen sleeps four. Silver and Gold Suites add a living area, and the Gold throws in a bar and a freestanding tub. The "Sound of Your Stay" programme will send up a curated stack of vinyl and a guitar.
03Gaming
Open every hour of every day: 1,500-plus slots, live tables at all hours — roulette, craps, mini baccarat, blackjack and others — plus high-limit VIP play and a newly added baccarat room. Unity by Hard Rock membership — tiers Star, Legend, Icon, plus the invitation-only X — discounts valet and the shuttle as well.
04Live music
The Hard Rock LIVE hall measures 23,000 sq ft; standing it takes 2,200, seated 1,900. The Joint: 25 to 400. Friday and Saturday nights bring free live music to the Council Oak Lounge stage, and the Hard Rock Cafe books tribute and cover acts with no cover charge.
05Food
Top table is Council Oak Steaks & Seafood. Its template is the Florida flagship at Seminole Hard Rock, and on Sundays it opens for brunch, 10 am till 3 pm. Casual: Brick'd Italian Kitchen, YOUYU Noodle Bar, Hard Rock Cafe. Constant Grind, the Marketplace café, is open 24/7.
06Gym, no pool, valet
Body Rock (Technogym kit) is open 24 hours via room key. No pool shows up on the hotel's published amenity pages, so assume there isn't one. Valet, 24/7: $20 for non-members, $15 at Star tier, $10 at Legend, no charge for Icon and X. Two EV charging points.
07Getting there
The airport is about two miles off. A property shuttle runs to Leitrim and Uplands O-Train stations — fare $5 per direction, $3.50 with Unity, cashless. Harness racing at the adjacent Rideau Carleton track stopped in March 2026.
08Verdict on file
Ottawa's freshest rooms and the best live-music programme of any casino hotel in its size class. Suited to couples and groups of friends; ruled out for families.
